Everyday Growing Cultures on Social Media
Dear Allotment Data/Everyday Growing Cultures
As an ex-environmental scientist/agricultural engineer and keen allotment owner, I have developed allotmentor.com, whose main purpose is to provide a forever-free allotment/gyo planning tool. I have been involved in a number of crowd-sourcing initiatives in previous jobs and one of the things I would like to use allotmentor for is to help collect data on all things gyo – particularly the sort of things that MyHarvest is trying to do wrt to socio-economic benefits of gyo and collecting real-world data on varieties of seeds.
You can see the sort of plots that users plan and keep notes on here:

(this is Mike Dighton’s plot from Greater Manchester)
I wondered whether Allotmentor might provide a potentially useful source of data for any of your allotment data projects?

Many thanks

Dear Jonathan, thanks for this comment. Sorry for not replying sooner! We’re unfortunately not quite ready yet with all the allotment data, but will be soon. We’ll make sure to let you know when the data’s available. In the meantime, if you’re interested in allotment waiting list data, then please check Transition Town West Kirby’s report and dataset (by Margaret and Ian Campbell).
