Share your vision
To share your vision more widely you need to communicate what you are doing to others in your neighbourhood. Bear in mind some people will be interested in actively contributing their skills to this activity – so ask around – its a good way to encourage community involvement.
- Set up a website: a simple blog will do
- Plan an event for people to find out more and get involved
- Produce a flyer to invite people to events
- Invite your neighbours to get involved
- Invite other groups to share their expertise with you – 596acres and the Moss Side Community garden shared their expertise with us.
Consider also:
- Including contact details so you people can get in touch (set up a generic email account for your group e.g. gmail, yahoo)
- Set up a mailing list to keep people up-to-date
- List regular events and meeting
- Consider making a film as a call to action and including it on your blog
- Write a press release to get some press coverage at a key event
